Wes Bain has been brewing professionally for over 7 years. He received his degree in Brewing & Brewery Operations from the prestigious KPU program before his professional start at our sister brewery Mount Arrowsmith Brewing – then moved to Fern + Cedar as the Head Brewer. Wes’s creativity and attention to detail is unparalleled, and he is the mastermind behind our ever-rotating beer lineup available exclusively at the brewery.

Executive Chef Michael Sproul has been delighting locals and visitors to the area for over 20 years with his fresh take on west coast cuisine. After getting his start in the world of food, Michael spent time at some amazing restaurants around Parksville and Nanaimo, expanding his experience and excelling with his creativity, before starting his own renowned restaurant with his wife in Parksville. After sitting firmly atop the best rated restaurants on Vancouver Island for 3 years he took a step away from the restaurant world to focus on family. Now he has returned to be apart of our amazing team with a goal to create one of the most unique dining experiences on Vancouver Island!

Matt and Amanda are experienced professionals in the hospitality sector. Both are proud alumni of Royal Roads University, where they each earned a degree in International Hotel Management. Their professional background includes hands-on work at luxury 5-star resorts nestled in the scenic landscapes of Thailand and managing a Fishing Lodge amidst the rugged beauty of the Northwest Territories. Their experience is more than just a testament to their dedication — it is a reflection of their passion for pioneering exceptional hospitality experiences. The couple’s unwavering commitment is to create not just a space, but a vibrant community hub where patrons can gather to savor exquisite brews and gastro-pub fare, all served up with unparalleled customer service.
